A very healthy, Yummylicious and innovative starter to kick off the day with full energy and happiness and kids love it much though they avoid beet root but this is definitely loved by them .


  1. 1 cup semolina
  2. 1/2 cup curd
  3. 2 beetroot
  4. 1 tomato
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  7. Some beet root water for preparation of batter to adjust consistency
  8. For icing-
  9. 2 tbsp hung curd
  10. For tempering :
  11. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  12. 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
  13. 2-3 green chilli (optional)
  14. 1/2 tsp oil
  15. 5-6 curry leaves


  1. Pressure cook beetroot and tomato by adding little amount of water and allow 2 whistles to blow.

  2. Now in meanwhile mix curd, semolina and allow it to stay for 15 minutes.

  3. After semolina will become spongy and fluffy by absorbing all curd fully moist.

  4. Now make a purée of tomato and beetroot in a mixer grinder.

  5. In the batter of semolina curd prepared add this purée and mix it well by adding salt and garlic ginger paste.

  6. Adjust the consistency by adding beetroot water.

  7. Now preheat the oven at 180 c for 5 minutes and then pour this batter into greased heart-shaped silicone moulds and bake it for 20 minutes.

  8. Then allow it to cool for 5 minutes and demould it.

  9. Then apply hung curd on the top of every muffin (hung curd prepared by hanging 1 bowl curd in the muslin cloth for 2 hours)

  10. Finally, prepare the tempering by taking little oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds to crackle, add sesame seeds and some curry leaves and green chilli and sauté for a while.

  11. Pour this tempering over icing.

  12. Yummy and delicious healthy muffins are ready to be served with tomato ketchup or green chutney.
